We work from home so while our working and reception hours are very flexible (evenings, weekends etc), sometimes we may not be in. Please arrange a booking first.

We mostly work on devices in our home-based workshop but if the job requires an on-site visit we can arrange something for you. We often call on our colleague Steve Hayden from Creative PCs to take care of these jobs as he does a lot of home visits. Please bear in mind that some jobs simply cannot be done ‘on-site’ if they are to be done properly. Hardware diagnostic tests, file corruption scans, data backups and data restores can sometimes take hours – much of the time the engineer can be working on another job while these are running. On-site work is generally billed at an hourly rate whereas workshop work is generally cheaper and fixed-rate. Please contact us for more info.

Your data is our first priority on each job we do. We always endeavour to back up your data before attempting any major repair. (Of course, taking regular backups yourself is also important!) Your privacy is also very important to us – we make every effort to ensure your data is protected. Please read our Privacy Policy page for more information.

Depending on our workload, usually within 1 to 3 working days of receiving the item. Some may take a bit longer, especially if we need to source any parts that are specific to your device. If you need your device back in a hurry, please ask about our Rapid Turnaround express service.

Yes, for an additional charge, our ‘Rapid Turnaround’ service is offered to businesses or individuals who must have their PC back as soon as possible.
If necessary we will work overnight to keep the turnaround time down to a minimum.
Please contact us to check availability and prices.

Data recovery times can vary a lot depending on the device and what’s wrong with it. We’ve had a lot of jobs done in a couple of hours or within 24 hours but we’ve also had recovery jobs that took weeks because it was that slow to read data from the damaged hard drives. In cases like the latter and depending on the type of damage, a specialist data recovery centre might be able to read the data faster with the equipment they have at their disposal, but the cost to you would of course be much higher.

Our rates are very competitive. To be fair to our clients, our workshop rates are usually charged on a ‘Per-Job’ basis – not ‘Per-Hour’.
A quote will be given before any major repairs are carried out. Most labour charges range between £30 and £120.
There is a minimum charge of £20 for diagnostics, disassembly and/or researching parts availability etc. This is deducted from your final bill if the item is repaired.
On-site work rates vary depending on requirements. Please contact us for details.

We do keep a range of quality laptop chargers, cables and adapters for sale. Please contact us for details.
We don’t sell any other computer products online or in a shop but we do keep some of the more popular items in stock, for repair and upgrade purposes.
A deposit will be required for higher priced ‘special-order’ items we don’t usually stock.
Standard components are purchased for delivery usually by the next working day unless it’s a very specific part, in which case it may take up to 3 working days for UK based suppliers and 1-2 weeks for China based suppliers (special order micro-chips and other electronic components etc).

Sorry, we don’t. Sadly, consumer inkjet printers are generally not designed for field repair. Sending your inkjet printer back to the manufacturer for repair probably won’t be cost effective either as they are so cheap to buy nowadays and generally not built to be repaired. For business-class laser printers and wide format printers we can suggest https://kent-printer-repairs.co.uk

In some cases we can repair monitors with power and switch issues. We only work on branded OLED or LED LCD monitors; we don’t repair CRT Monitors (the old bulky/heavy cathode tube monitors).

Many branded monitors are covered by a three to five year manufacturer’s warranty. It is recommended that you contact the supplier or manufacturer if it is still in warranty.

Generally, repairs are not worth doing on cheap monitors (i.e. under £150). If the actual LCD/OLED screen panel is broken or has vertical/horizontal lines (or other defects) it is generally not cost effective to replace these panels, if you can even find them available to purchase.
